Prof. Dr. Rakesh Manuka ,PhD .

Dr. Rakesh Manuka has completed a Ph.D. from BITS PILANI K.K. Birla Goa Campus and did postdoctoral studies at BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre), Mumbai. During his Ph.D., he worked on Rice and Arabidopsis thaliana to overcome abiotic stress conditions. He was actively involved in campus administration and held positions of Ph.D. representative and Senate Member in BITS PILANI K.K. Birla Goa Campus. During his Ph.D. tenure, he got the DST-SERB International travel grant. He did his M.Sc. internship at ICRISAT, Hyderabad. In postdoctoral studies he worked on soybean, rice, and banana to overcome abiotic stress conditions.

After his post doctorate, he worked as an Assistant Professor in different Universities. He published 8 research articles in highly reputed international journals. He attended more than 30 national/international conferences and seminars. His area of academic and research interests is plant biotechnology and bioinformatics. He taught several papers for B.Sc. and M.Sc. Biotechnology. He is actively playing the role of reviewer for Springer Nature Journals (BMC Plant Biology, Plant Molecular Biology Reporter, Functional and Integrative Genomics, Chemical and Biological Technologies in Agriculture, etc.).

He got ratified as Principal from Osmania University in the year 2023. Presently, working as the Principal of Avanthi Degree and P.G. College, Barkathpura and Narayanaguda, Hyderabad.
